Natasha Hutchison

Director / Psychologist

Spectrum Oasis was founded by psychologist Natasha Hutchison in January 2012. Natasha has extensive experience working in both Australia and New Zealand for private and government organisations. She works both therapeutically and diagnostically with young children through to adults and their families in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other related Developmental Disabilities. Natasha is a qualified Applied Behaviour Analysis Practitioner who also facilitates a range of Early Intervention, Adolescent and Teen programs that see your young person achieve successes across all settings.

Natasha completed her Bachelors and Master of Science in Psychology at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Her masters thesis involved Risk Assessment and developing best-practice Behavioural Management Plans for children and young people on the Autism Spectrum who engaged in challenging behaviour (2006). Natasha completed her Postgraduate Diploma in the Practice of Psychology (Applied Behaviour Analysis and Autism Spectrum Conditions) at the University of Waikato in 2007.

In the early 2000s, Natasha began her career journey in psychology and ASD by delivering home-based early-intervention programs to children. She also worked with individuals to rehabilitate and integrate into the community following a wide range of challenges. In the five years leading up to her move across the Tasman to Australia she gained much pleasure and experience working for an independent charitable trust that provides services for children, young people and adults with disabilities and their families.

Natasha created the “Prepped for Education” and “Early Intervention” programs, which are run at Spectrum Oasis. These programs are highly successful in preparing children on the Spectrum with important skills and behaviours in all areas of their lives (e.g., home, education, and community). Natasha has completed training in Paula Barrett’s “Fun Friends” social skills program for children between the ages of 4-7, and is a trained facilitator of the “Secret Agent Society” social skills program designed to improve the social and emotional skills of 8-12 year old children on the Spectrum.

Natasha has had many years experience conducting assessments such as  ASD/ADHD Assessments and also Educational & Cognitive Assessments.
